SEX: The Facebook Dating Curse
By Anonymous on 08 Aug
Facebook has been noted for creating the social network revolution, a fact hard to argue with, but what has it done to the way singles interact? Has Facebook helped or hurt the dating process.
It may be hard to find a friend who has been on a TRUE blind date, Facebook has closed the minds of potential matches by over saturating singles.
When you get set up by a friend the first reaction now is to look them up on Facebook and instantly judge them based on their profile picture and small list of liked activities. Facebook is a dating curse. Long gone are the days of using a first date to "get to know" someone, or judge them on their appearance by actually seeing them. Singles are blocking potential matches by a Facebook screening process that may be doing more harm then good.
Facebook then goes further to ruin your dating life. If you get past the first date most likely you are going to spend the coming days in a CIA-like spy operation into their Facebook activities to see what they are up to. You become a spectator in their life, rather than trying to follow up the date. The chat feature further curses you not to interact in person or on the phone, creating a lazy way to get the attention of your match in the least romantic and respected way.
Facebook is a curse to dating. Stop Facebook stalking your dates to the point of exhaustion and try to really get to know them. Your friends will still be falling victim to the Facebook curse, don't give in. Challenge yourself to a TRUE blind date for once, or limited your contact with a potential match to phone or in person.
You might actually meet someone that a blurry Facebook PIC would tell you to blow off.
