Sanctum: Worst Movie Ever?
By Anonymous on 16 Feb
What do you get when you have a dozen talentless actors and writers paired with a super rich producer? "Sanctum", sucking at a movie theater near you right now! This movie was one of the worst movies of the decade for numerous reasons, but, most obviously because of the James Cameron connection.
With the direction of his life project, "Avatar", complete James decided to jump back in the Executive Producer chair for "Sanctum". It's hard to believe he had ANYTHING to do this with film, besides maybe the 3D effects which made it physically possible to watch. After the worldwide phenomenon of his last film one would think he would be embarrassed to have his name on this one. (Trust us, there are films being made at universities around the country better than "Sanctum"). It's a shame.
The film is a jumble of awful over done Hollywood cliques and tags, working off a premise that is wildly dubbed "based on true events". Okay, whatever. It truly is hard to pick what is the worst element of the film, the story, script or acting. All so equally appalling and amateur.
Keeping the film together is James Cameron's money, effects for the lay person. "Sanctum" does dazzle in moments with its 3D scenes, but, it does little to hold the story together. The characters are trivial. There is no feeling toward any main characters, if anything one ends up wishing most would just die to make the story move faster.
In the end, save your money. Wait til this comes out on DVD and a drinking game is created based off its awfulness.
